How to be Productive Working from Home

Working from Home is the New Normal since March 2020. Though people were used to working from home but in one of cases. WFM for over 6 months had been challenging for most of the people especially for the ones who were new to this way of working.
However, it's not that challenging as people had perceived it to be. There are a few facts and solutions (proven by science) that can help you be productive and develop your mental wellness too.
A recent Survey reveals that workforce Working from Home increased from 8% pre-Covid to 35% post-Covid
However, 40% still prefer to Work from Home even in future considering the fear of the pandemic
The challenging part is that employees think their work timing has increased (which is true too as survey of 3.1 million workers said , work timing increased by 48 minutes), but they don't consider the fact that the travel time has reduced too.
Because of the new norm, employees are having more meetings (up 13%) and they are sending 1.4 emails more per day
Challenges

- Difficulty in Collaboration
- Feeling aloof
- No sufficient breaks
- Working across Time zones
- Lack of Motivation

Remedies to be Productive at Work (from Home)
- Have a proper working station
- Right placement of the laptop
- Having your stationary within your reach
- Having phone on speaker while talking
- Switching mouse within your both hands
- Taking sufficient breaks
Rules at Home
- Preset quite time at home that "No-Screen" time too. Interact well with your family at that time
- Have your daily and weekly goals and stick to them to achieve optimum results
- Start and End your day at same time. It's like having a routine of work.
Mental Wellness
- People living alone should have regular conversations with freinds and families to discuss about their well-being
- Practice of staying away from negative news and message especially the media and social media
Take a Break
- It's very important to take optimum breaks in between.
- The breaks helps you with body movements, body tiredness, mental freshness
- Preferrably walk during the breaks or sit outside - close to nature or see a broader view and have fresh air
Enjoy your Free Time
- Make sure you are spending time on your favourite time pass - games, exercise, cooking, reading, dance, music etc.
- Take some time out for Meditation. That's the time when you have to control your thoughts and focus on your inner self
All the mentioned points are easy to implement and can make considerable change in your physical and mental well being and leading you towards a Happy life.

4 年What about working parents who have to attend online pre school, small kids who scream all day and need to be fed and changed, do home chores and still be productive all day. A lot of them have no family support either.
