How To Be Productive Like A Sieve
Renée Padmore
To make walking in purpose and sharing the Gospel as simple and creative as possible for Christian women entrepreneurs
Jesus taught people powerful truths using regular things like salt, light and seeds. And He made a lasting impact. I hope I can do the same for you each week with simple objects and insightful teachings.?
There's no end to what we can learn from the little things around us. We only need to take the time to look, listen and learn. In today's edition of Productivity PlayRoom we'll be focusing on a sieve.?
Let's dive right in.?
Know what to get rid of
Sieves are some of the easiest and safest kitchen tools to use. Even kids can use them to separate materials of different sizes.?
It might be easy when cooking. But not in real life.?
Everyday we should be sifting through our lives to separate what we need from what we don't need.?
And get rid of what's holding back our productivity. Things like:
? Distractions
? Complaining
? Procrastination?
You'll be surprised how removing just one of those things every day will cause your productivity to skyrocket.
Know what to keep
Sieves are used to separate objects of different sizes. Once they are separated you keep one and usually discard the other. Quick and easy.?
But it's not that easy in life sometimes, is it?
Do you know why?
That's because when cooking you don't always want to throw away one of the things you sift.?
For example, if you had flour and raisins mixed. You don't want to toss one. You just need to separate them.
In life, we get confused about what to keep. The other option isn't necessarily bad. It just needs to be separated right now so that you keep the right things.
? Keep a supportive community.
? Keep being consistent with what works.
? Keep an open mind to new opportunities.
Examine your daily habits and see what you need to take a step back from. Know what to hold on to and watch your productivity improve.

Know what to do
Did you know that there are different ways to separate foods in the kitchen?
When we want to separate solids we use a sieve. Some people call it a strainer. I do ????♀?.
If we're cooking and we want to strain off liquids, we usually use a colander. A different type of strainer.
The holes in a colander are much bigger so you can't sift certain objects with it.?
You have to look at what you are sifting and figure out the best device to use.?
Sometimes we find ourselves in a pickle because we don't know what to do at the right moment.?
We can't look at a situation and figure out the best way forward.?
Maybe we waste lots of time doing the simplest of things. That's like bring a colander when we need a little sieve.?
At other times we may set aside a small amount of time and then realise the task was bigger than we thought it was. We brought a little sieve to strain the water off of a large pot of food.?
Knowing how to discern can save us time and effort. That will help us to be more productive every day.?
Wrapping it up
The Bible says in James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Discerning isn't just about knowing good from evil. Although that's important.?
It's about having wisdom. Godly wisdom to know how to sift through life's choices and make the right decisions each day.?
It's as simple as asking God for wisdom. He pours it out on us liberally.?
Wisdom and discernment don't only save time. They can also save our lives.
Be encouraged today to live like a sieve:
? Know what to get rid of
? Know what to keep
? Know what to do
And watch your productivity improve everyday.
P.S. → Do you use the word 'sieve' or 'strainer'?

6 个月I call it also a sieve. So much fun for me to read, but you have to produce a new idea every week. You should write a list of all the objects you used in the playroom. If this are the end for now , I am happy that I have previous editions in my email, that I can read it again. I hope you will relaunch all these articles again sometime when you have 10 k followers!
Awesome and practical article to illustrate James 1:5. I think I'm more of a seive - what do I need to keep right now and what do I need to save for later?
Keep up the great work Renée Padmore Rooting for you!
