How To Be Productive Like A Battery

Jesus taught people powerful truths using regular things like salt, light and seeds. And He made a lasting impact. I hope I can do the same for you each week with simple objects and insightful teachings.?

There's purpose in everything. It gives us meaning and helps us to make good use of the little things around us and become more productive with our time. In the Productivity PlayRoom today let's see what we can learn from a battery.

Know your identity

Almost everything that we have runs off of electricity or a battery:

??Cellphones

??Flashlights

??Watches

??Laptops

??Clocks?

Many items may use batteries but the batteries are all different. You wouldn't put a watch battery in a cellphone. Neither would use use a laptop battery in a clock.?

They have different shapes and sizes to suit the object they are powering.?

What are we powering in life?

Our ability to do that effectively is influenced by knowing what type of 'battery' we are.?

When we don't know our identity we will try to fit in anywhere and do anything. But in the same way that batteries have specific shapes and sizes to fit into certain places, we are the same.?

It's important for us to know who we are and what shape we fit into in life. This will help us to make decisions that lead us to our purpose and help us to make good use of our time.?

Know your direction

It's good to know your place. But it's also important to know your direction and where you're pointing.

You can have the right battery for the right object. It can be at full strength. But if you turn the battery in the wrong direction there will be no power flowing to bring life to the object.

Similarly, we have to be pointing in the right direction. We can be fired up and in place. But if God says to move left and we're heading right, we will not be giving life to or producing anything.

Make sure that you:

? Read the word

? Listen to God's voice

? Spend time in His presence

He will guide you in the right direction that leads to purpose and greater productivity in life.?

Know your season

Did you know that sometimes when we think batteries are d*ad they really aren't 'd*ad d*ad'? They just become too depleted to do a specific job anymore. Or have difficulty holding the charge.

I have a friend who told my hubby and I that he went to the golf club near his home and got some batteries from old golf carts.?

The batteries were too depleted to power the carts. But they were perfect for powering solar panels so he could store energy during the day for electricity at night.?

Our very own MacGyver ??.

We go through seasons in life where our batteries are at different strengths. We tend to throw away batteries when we think they are useless. But they could still have life in them to power something else that uses less current.

Thank God He isn't like that.?

He doesn't throw us away because we get old or tired. He can recharge us like rechargeable batteries. Or He can put us somewhere else to use the power we do have in different ways.?

It's up to us to know our battery strength and ask God to use us accordingly.?

Wrapping it up

God says in 2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.?

All the power that you need in your 'battery' is found in Christ. In His Word and Holy Spirit. His grace is sufficient for you.?
