Things every proactive project manager does
The difference between running a successful project versus a project that fails is your proactiveness as a project manager. Being proactive can truly make or break your project.
But what does it really mean to be a proactive project manager?
Here are a few ways you can ensure you’re proactive and not reactive as a PM.
Create a Priority Matrix
A priority matrix is one of the most amazing tools in project management that keeps you proactive.
On every project, there will be people looking to change your scope, increase your timing, take away budget, or whatever other changes it may be. The priority matrix is a really powerful tool to ensure your project priorities remain in the right place and to keep things on track.

Implement Change Control Forms
Change control forms are a helpful tool to ensure that you’re not making changes to your project without really thinking it through and then letting your project get derailed.
I love implementing change control forms because often, when someone is asked to fill out a change control form for changes they want to make, suddenly they decide it’s not important enough.
For the times when it is important enough for them to fill out a change control form, you now have all the details about the change they’re requesting, and you can be proactive in deciding the best way forward.
