How to Prevent Poor Color Dispersion in Injection Blow Molding
Custom Xaloy? Screw Design Reduces Injection Blow Molding Scrap Rate to Zero
Poor color dispersion in injection blow molding can lead to high scrap rates and lower profits. If the problem is not due to machine settings or the colorant, the screw design could be to blame. A screw designed for the application and resin can prevent color dispersion issues.
THE CHALLENGE
An injection blow molder in South America was challenged with color dispersion on one of their lines, leading to a 40% scrap rate. They were processing polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with a 35mm 25:1 single flighted screw in a Novapax machine. Turning to Xaloy, they asked for a solution to remedy their color dispersion and scrap rate issues.
Luckily, Xaloy had the right solution for them.?[click to continue reading...]
