The 1st and 6th April 2024 are dates for the diary for a wide range of employment law changes coming into effect:

  • March: Paternity Leave (Amendment) Regulations 2024?
  • Flexible working requests - Employment Relations (Flexible Working Bill)
  • Statutory Carers Leave?
  • Protection from Redundancy (Pregnancy and Family Leave) Act 2023
  • Rolled up holiday pay for irregular hour workers - changes to holiday pay and EU retained law
  • Increase to national living wage
  • And a number of other employment law changes are on the horizon for later in the year.?

How can my business prepare for these changes?

HR policies and procedures are there to protect and benefit your business and your people. It's key that your HR policies and procedures are reviewed and updated as required to reflect the upcoming changes in employment law and that these are readily available to your team. Consider if your line managers may also need training to support their team as required.?
