Great way to prepare Recovery/Revised time schedule when Activity % complete is duration type-Rev-01

The Propose of this paper is specified for recovery/Revised schedule issues when dealing with activity % complete type equal Duration as the strong relation between duration and Activity % complete distracts the earned value and All progress % complete.

The paper completed the common method when using physically % complete type.

When you have EOT approval or delays occur and requested to submit Recovery/revised schedule, the following steps is the fastest way for prepare the new Baseline:

1-????Firstly solve out-of-sequence activities according to the new methodology with any method of solving, to make sure that all relationships are satisfied.

2-????Add activity Code with name “Splitting Activities” then assign the In Progress activities to the New Activity Code (Completed one), further to easy work or review.

?

10-??Apply the Filter on the Activity Code “splitting Activities” Completed ones, Make the finish date = Data Date-1.

11-??Assign the Old activity to be the predecessor for the new one (Same split activities)

12-??In my opinion the program is considered a revised or recovery one so there's must be a new sequence to catch you new milestones dates so the old relationships between activities is still not valid, but If you need to Assign the Same successors for the new activities from the old activities (be in the old activity successor tab, select all Successors, press assign, be on the new activity press assign). Note: take in your consideration that the successor activities to be the "Not started" activities. Maybe find more easy solution in the next revision.

13-??Please Check/solve the few new out of sequence if any and adjust the new relation if any.

14-??Now you have Recovery plan with only two activity status (Completed or Not started), use the new activities to start your critical/non critical paths.

15-??For modify the Cost/Weight/man-hour or any assigned resources follow the below steps:

  • 15.1. Assign the Cost/Weight/man-hour to the new split activities
  • 15.2. Export the activity that under activity code “split Activities” as activities and Recourse assignment.
  • 15.3. Adjust the completed activities budget units by multiply the Actual % complete with original budget unit.
  • 15.4. Adjust the new activities budget units USE VLOOKUP function.
  • 15.5. Adjust the new activities budget units by multiply the remaining % complete with original budget unit.
  • 15.6. make sure that the total budget unit equal the original total budget units.
  • 15.7 Finally apply global change equal planned values with actual for the complete activities.(PL start=start, PL finish=Finish and OD=AD)
