1. Prepare a complete polishing pad kit for including 50#, 100#, 200#, 400#, 800#, 1500# and 3000#. They need to be used grit by grit to attain an excellent finishing. Sometimes, users may complain about poor quality of our polishing pads, because they don’t make their stones shiny. But in fact, some users tend to skip one or two grits and reduce 7-step pads to 5-step ones (100#, 400#, 800#, 1500# and 3000#) in the polishing process. According to our experience and expertise, reducing grits doesn’t help achieve good shine but instead leads to higher overall cost;

2. Attach Velcro backing pad holder to a handheld grinder and have it tightened;

3. Hold marble or granite slab in place with clamps and a piece of wood to prevent it from moving while polishing;

4. Make sure that the slab is safely secured with wood over it to avoid possible scratches on the slab surface;

5. Start polishing with 50# pad attached to the Velcro holder. Make sure that the grinder is running below 2500 RPM;

6. Move the grinder from left to right to remove all saw marks and scratches carefully. Position the grinder in slight angle and gradually polish granite or marble slab edges from one side to another. Do it slowly at bottom edge to remove objects;

7. Replace 50# pad with 100# pad, continue the same process like before. 100# pad works to remove all remaining saw marks;

8. Use 200# pad to remove very slight scratches. Continue like above two steps by polishing the edges from one side to another, left to right;

9. Install 400# pad onto Velcro backed holder and continue the same process;

10. Mount 800# polishing pad and polish the edges from left to right. For many softer stones and concrete, the shiny surface may be achieved at this stage. For very hard stones like granite and quartz, continue this step some times more;

11. Complete final finishing with 1500# and 3000# pads. Continue the previous method to polish the edges and do it until the eye-catching shiny polishing appears.
