We use point clouds to create 3D models of landscapes, cities, and buildings. We can also use them to create digital elevation models, which are basically 3D maps of the ground surface. And we can use point clouds to monitor changes in the environment over time, like deforestation or glacial melting. Basically, if you can think of it, you can probably do it with a point cloud. That's why they're such an important tool in the world of geospatial analysis.
