How Plugging In To Neurodiversity Is Driving Leading Organizations Forward

How Plugging In To Neurodiversity Is Driving Leading Organizations Forward

Greetings, from Texas!? I hope this note finds all of you all doing well.?

With our EMPOWER services (training, job coaching & consulting) for current workforces gaining more traction, I wanted to address a question we get fairly often:

?“We’d like to do something around Neurodiversity, but where should we start?”

While individual advice can always vary, STARS is usually the best place to begin for a few reasons:?

First, STARS is a pilot program – so you don’t need to have everything figured out to get going.? Our clients learn by going through a STARS pilot, building knowledge and training assets they now own, then they select which components they want to implement across the enterprise.

The second reason has to do with the ND employees you already have.? We know that 70% of neurodistinct employees don’t disclose to their employer.? This is a group that is still quite hesitant to ask for support.? So even the best employee programs can have limited effectiveness if most people don’t participate.? We know from experience that the single best way to get ND employees to feel comfortable to engage is through a hiring program like STARS.

As one employee at one of our clients shared recently:?

“I didn’t come forward because I didn’t want people to view me differently.? But I now see that (through STARS) my employer is ‘walking the walk.’? I now believe my perspective is appreciated and I’d like to mentor some of the new hires Potentia is bringing in.”

While there are a variety of ways to begin becoming more ND-fluent, starting with a hiring pilot will make any subsequent efforts that much more effective.?

I hope that is helpful.? Feel free to reach out to anyone on our team and we can discuss the best options for you.?

Best,

Jeff Miller
