How Plenty of Fish is Supporting COVID Relief - Starting at Home

Earlier today, we shared that Plenty of Fish is donating ad space across our platforms, as well as developing creative assets to fill those spaces, to charities who are doing admirable, crucial work during the pandemic. 

In doing so, we also urged other organizations to look for opportunities within their teams, businesses and products that could make a positive impact. To do more and give more back during this time. 

Now, I am very proud to share that Plenty of Fish is donating $10,000 to Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS), a dynamic local organization based in Vancouver, like us, that provides education, advocacy and support service to women who need it. 

Right now, we’re all being told to stay home for our health and safety - but homes aren’t safe for everybody. 

During this time of mandated social distancing and isolation, many are co-quarantined with their abusive partners. In Response, BWSS has extended their Crisis Line support to 24 hours 7 days a week - and have reported a 300% increase in calls.  They've also made it possible for women to text or email if it is not safe to contact them by phone. 

This is incredibly important work that requires ongoing support, so in addition to our initial $10,000 donation, we’ll match another $10,000 raised by businesses and individuals.
