How to plan your work wisely in the era of digital transformation?

What is Scrum model of work and what excels it as one of the most-used Agile frameworks in project management?

Scrum as we use today began at a company called Advanced Development Methods by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland in the early 90s. Used by companies like IBM and Google, Scrum has increased total productivity . Despite its technical background however, Scrum has manifested itself into a variety of workflows from journalism to education.

Scrum designates five time-limited events to manage product delivery while maximizing feedback opportunities. These are:

  1. Sprints (Sprints are work cycles. Work in a three week Sprint for larger website projects in parallel with one-week Sprints for smaller, ongoing work orders)
  2. Sprint planning (few-hour session during which the team decides what to deliver in the upcoming Sprint from the Product Backlog)
  3. Daily Scrum (15-minute daily team meeting that allows information to flow freely within the team and synchronize accordingly for further action)
  4. Sprint Review (meeting held at the end of a sprint where the team demonstrates the product or changes to customers and gathers feedback on what needs to be included in the product registry in order to deliver it in subsequent sprints)
  5. Sprint Retrospective (meeting taking place at the end of the Sprint. The Team reviews its work, idenby verifying the possibilities of improving work processes in subsequent Sprints)

Scrum is one of a number of frameworks under the Agile umbrella. Is an adaptable, incremental framework that can deliver work in short duration time-boxes (Sprint) while providing transparency to the organization as to the status and progress of the work completed.Scrum allows to produce high-quality work faster. It encourages cohesiveness among various departments and makes it easier to identify issues, fostering continuous improvement that sustains and drives the whole process.

In short, whether you’re building schools in a third world country, teaching a classroom full of elementary students, or building websites, Scrum is highly effective because it matches many of the instincts that drive human nature; as Sutherland put it in his book, “Happiness is not complacent. It is a process, not a result.”

This is a big, difficult change and does not always succeed the first time.?However, for young, dynamic organizations, Agile and Scrum culture as a way of working are something completely natural. The framework seems obvious, only the details remain to be refined. After 25 years on the market, the Scrum adoption curve is entering the majority phase.
