How to plan ESG-compliant retreat for the firm
February 23 and March 8 are public holidays in Russia. On February 23, we honor Defenders of the Motherland, on March 8 - dear ladies ladies.
It is thawing. Time for corporate outings.
Retreats are important and pleasant functions for large, medium and small teams.
At other times, these were buddy feasts. During the period of restrictions due to COVID-19 - open-air ventures with team-building elements.
What do we plan this time?
Remember, we had a good time, pleasant impressions. A chance to make new connections.
The budget is realized, all for our own.
What else?
Here is my friend's story of the best corporate party in his memory. They went to the lake in the country, took all the equipment, and commenced a summer scout camp for youngsters (weather sheds, benches and trails).
Several teams were formed to introduce competitive element: what group would complete faster, stronger, better. The camp was named after the company, and a memorable tag embossed. Everyone really enjoyed it! Next year they went to build obstacle courses for scouts. Colleagues felt five feet tall and improved their image in the eyes of friends and family.
Not a single summer passes without a weekend spent with the family in a place where something real was built with their own hands)
Mission accomplished: the corporate retreat is done, relationships fostered, and something created for the society that will remain there forever.
A similar story in Russia. Dirt road leads to a suburban railway station (where, by the way, someone from the staff has lived): either to go around far, or jump over a mud ditch. Corporate retreat: staff has mastered a bridge (for lawyers, I think it's symbolic). Attorneys and support hand-in-hand were sawing rolled out logs, installed framework, nailed flooring). Result there is a bridge to the station, and a memory that says ?the bridge was built in the xx year by the team of the company....?
My dream these formats were practiced ever again.
