How to Pivot in Your Career Like I Did

It can be daunting to change careers or pivot in your career, especially when you dream of a certain path.Many of you know me as a chef, restaurateur and TV presenter. but what you may not know is that my career journey was full of ups and downs and changes, much like a dinner service.?

Football (soccer) was my dream from when I was teenager in the UK. It looked like I was on the path to playing with the Glasgow Rangers and realizing my football dreams. But my knee had other plans. After getting injured, my career in football was done.?

The pivot for me, as a young individual that was heading into sport as a career, was taking those same key elements from my sporting background into business:?

• Teamwork
• Perfection

These key elements are identical to whether you're behind the line, running a brigade in the kitchen, in a boardroom with a board of directors or in a dressing/locker room at halftime down 0-2, facing adversity in a home Darby. These elements, to me, are the keys to successfully pivoting and I kept those ethos in the way I run my business.
