How Philips has improved my life . . .

How Philips has improved my life . . .

After 14 years at Philips, I have decided to start a new chapter in my professional life.

I would like to reflect on the important role that Philips has played for me professionally and personally. Our mission at Philips is to improve people’s lives and this not only counts for the communities and people we serve, but has touched myself in many ways. On the professional side, many things can be said, but let me focus on my personal experience.

Philips has been with me throughout the most important moments in life, when I gave birth to my children and when going through unexpected health issues. In these moments, my managers and peers were there to make sure that I could be my best self privately in good and bad times, without the worry about impact on my career. My colleagues have always been there to support and re-energize me when I needed that most. With many of them, I will stay in close connection. Investing in the people you work with is the biggest learning as a leader and I could not get a bigger compliment than what was written in our internal announcement. Philips has opened my eyes that results can only be booked with and by the people you work with.

"She is a leadership role model with a people-first mindset, an eye for talent and an advocate for personal and professional growth. She has made a positive impact on countless employees here and will be greatly missed"

This is actually something I am more proud of than the various business results booked. In my view, they are a result of this. Am humbled by it and when my kids are older, I will proudly show this and teach them the same lesson I learned at Philips. A big thank you to the great managers and colleagues that I had the honour to work with, like Jack van Strien, Caroline Clarke, Egbert van Acht, Pieter Nota, Roy Jakobs, Frans van Houten, Lorraine Barber-Miller and Deeptha Khanna more recently.

I am making a big professional jump now as per March 1st 2021 to Ancora Health and will say goodbye to the corporate title now, but one thing remains constant….. Staying true to my passion to educate, inspire and support more and more people regardless of background, education and upbringing to live healthier and thereby more fulfilling lives. It will not be easy to transform the industry, but I am up 200% for the challenge. More to come!
