How personal values drive innovation

In my personal experience, after more than 30 years in the corporate world, I embarked on a new journey: entrepreneurship in consulting. This decision was supported not only by my accumulated experience but, most importantly, by personal values that guided me through this transformative process.
Resilience was one of the key pillars of this transition. Facing the unknown and transforming knowledge into a business required adaptation, creativity, and strategic vision. I discovered that the ability to seek the best path, even amidst uncertainties, matures over time and is essential for innovation.
Another value that guided me was curiosity. I have always been motivated to explore new ideas, tools, and solutions. This mindset shaped the uniqueness of my work as a consultant, where I apply lessons learned from both successes and failures to identify opportunities and deliver innovative solutions to customers.
Finally, communication played a critical role. Family examples, training, and practical experiences taught me that listening and articulating ideas clearly are essential skills to attract customers and build lasting partnerships. Leveraging social media and a responsive website were also key strategies that amplified this process, in which Agência Lab8 and its CEO Miguel Lobitsky played a key role.
Values like these help us face challenges, adapt, and, most importantly, innovate, as we have been learning at MIT Professional Education through its outstanding Facilitator Cristina Maldonado . I believe that, regardless of the field, those who align with their identity and motivations are better equipped to create impact.
