How personal do you get when you write? Your writing counts on its honesty!

From the time of carved letters to the clicks on keyboard, the craft of writing has witnessed a plethora of mediums through which communication can be effectively imparted, whatever the purpose may be. Unlike many artistic divisions, writing is a vertical which encompasses a spectrum of approaches – solely depending upon the audience to cater. Be it writing catchy and crisp lines for advertisements, or writing a 120-page long screenplay, or a thrilling fictional book, or articles that captivate and pull-in clicks, or soul-drenching poems – writing has become an expression that has widely attained its relevance, irreplaceability and acceptance.

The biggest dilemma for a writer remains judging his own material, especially when your mind has been exhausted after climbing the thoughts of possible directions you want your writing to go – and this is the most beautiful part of being associated with an art where unsurety pushes you to revisit the material again and again, till your conscience slaps you off and says - “You have given every ounce of yours to this – now, let fate drive it”.

But the big question remains – have you really given it all? And if yes, what are those out-of-the-box treasured aspects that you are relying upon, claiming your writing to be ‘different’? This is where your experiences, conflicts, relationships, perception, political view – and life pitches in. As writing is nothing but a mirroring process of your thoughts, your personal understanding about the subject matters the most – being more crucial than how well-versed you are with the language. Because if only language was the case, we won’t be witnessing the off-stream people like engineers/CAs making it big into writing and directing successful films – like Rajkumar Hirani, Aanand L Rai, Shoojit Sircar, Nitin Tiwari, Anubhav Sinha, and the list is quite overwhelming.

One of the most influential facets of getting inspired to write is the ability to conduct a thorough introspection – as articulating your say categorically and honestly inducing your personality into words, are the key ingredients to curate something humanly relatable, socially reflecting, and presenting a thought that is exclusively your USP. Because when writing is done just for the heck of it, outcomes are sure to be flat, easily ignorable – something which lags behind being exciting enough and appeal for eyeballs to get going onto it. So, if you are writing the most important piece of your career or even a diary to yourself – have an extensively honest and transparent approach, gather your instincts unapologetically, and then – pick up the pen.
