How to Perform Maghrib Prayer- ???? ??????? (Prayer Rakats)

Zuhr prayer (Arabic: ???? ?????, ?alāt a?-?uhr, "noon prayer") is one of the five mandatory daily prayers (salat) in Islam. It consists of four rakats (units) performed in the afternoon. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to perform it:

Preparation for Prayer

Before performing any prayer, it is essential to make sure you are in a state of ritual purity (wudu). This involves washing certain parts of the body, including the face, hands, arms, and feet.

Once you are in a state of wudu, you should find a clean and quiet place to pray. If possible, face the direction of the Kaaba, the sacred house in Mecca, which is the Qiblah for Muslims worldwide. You can use a compass or prayer app to determine the direction of the Qiblah from your location.

Performing the Zuhr Prayer

Niyyah (Intention)

Begin by standing upright and facing the Qiblah. Bring your hands up to your chest in the supplication position (niyyah) and say the following intention in your heart:

Arabic:

????? ???????? ????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ??????? ????? ????????

English:

I intend to pray the Zuhr prayer of four rakats as an obligation to Allah Almighty.

Takbir (Opening Takbir)

Raise your hands to your ears and say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest). This marks the beginning of the prayer.

Reciting Surah al-Fatihah

After lowering your hands, recite Surah al-Fatihah, the opening chapter of the Quran.

Second Recitation

Recite another short Surah or verses from the Quran after Surah al-Fatihah.

Ruku' (Bowing)

Bow your waist while saying "Ruku'un" (Bowing) and maintain a bowed posture until you feel comfortable.

I'tidal (Rising from Bowing)

Straighten up from the bowing position and say "I'tidalun" (Rising).

Sujud (Prostration)

Fall to the ground on your forehead, hands, knees, and feet, while saying "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest). Hold this position for a few moments.

Sitting Up from Prostration

Sit up on your backside while saying "I'tida'un" (Rising).

Second Prostration

Repeat the prostration (sajdah) in the same way as before.

Tashahhud (Sitting)

Sit up in a relaxed position and recite the Tashahhud, which includes sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

Salawat (Sending Blessings)

Send blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad and his family by saying:

Arabic:

??????????? ????? ????? ????????? ??????? ?????????

English:

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family.

Salam (Peace Greeting)

Turn your head to the right and say "Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi" (Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you). Then, turn your head to the left and repeat the same phrase. This ends the first two rakats.

Repeating Rakats 3 and 4

Repeat steps 2 to 11 for the third and fourth rakats of Zuhr prayer.

Ending the Prayer

After completing the fourth rakat, sit up and recite the Tashahhud, Salawat, and Salam again. This concludes the Zuhr prayer.

Additional Notes

You can recite additional verses from the Quran after Surah al-Fatihah in the first and second rakats.

You can say "Subhana Rabbiyal-'Ala" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High) while bowing.

You can say "Rabbana lak al-hamdu" (Our Lord, all praise is due to You) while rising from bowing.

You can say "Subhana Rabbiyas-Sajid" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most Prostrating) while in prostration.

You can say "Rabbighfirli" (My Lord, forgive me) while sitting between the two prostrations.
