How to Perform Isha Prayer-???? ??????? (Prayer Rakats)

The Isha prayer (Arabic: ???? ??????, ?alāt al-?i?ā?, "night prayer") is one of the five mandatory daily prayers (salat) in Islam. It consists of four rakats (units) performed at night. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to perform it:

Preparation

Wudu: Ensure you are in a state of ritual purity by performing wudu. You can find instructions on performing wudu online

Attire: Wear clean and modest clothing.

Place and Time: Find a clean and quiet place to pray. Isha prayer starts after sunset and ends before midnight. You can use a prayer app to determine the exact Isha time in your location.

Intention (Niyyah): Set your intention in your heart to perform Isha prayer.

The Prayer

Takbir (Opening Takbir): Raise your hands up to your ears and say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest).

Recitation: Recite Surah Al-Fatihah, the opening chapter of the Quran.

Second Recitation: Recite another short Surah or verses from the Quran after Al-Fatihah.

Ruku' (Bowing): While standing, bow your waist and say "Ruku'un" (Bowing). Remain comfortably bowed for a few moments.

Straightening Up (I'tidal): Straighten up from the bowing position and say "I'tidalun" (Rising).

Sujud (Prostration): Fall to the ground on your forehead, hands, knees, and feet, while saying "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest). Hold this prostration for a few moments.

Sitting Up (I'tida'): Sit up on your backside while saying "I'tida'un" (Rising).

Second Prostration: Repeat the prostration (sajdah) in the same way as before. This completes one rakah (unit) of prayer.

Remaining Rakahs

Repeat steps 2 to 8 for the second, third, and fourth rakats of Isha prayer.

Ending the Prayer

Tashahhud: Sit up in a relaxed position and recite the Tashahhud, which includes sending blessings upon Prophet Muhammad.

Salawat: Send blessings upon Prophet Muhammad and his family.

Salam (Peace Greeting): Turn your head to the right and say "Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi" (Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you). Then, turn your head to the left and repeat the same phrase. This ends the prayer.

Additional Notes

Isha prayer consists of four mandatory (fard) rakats.

There are also recommended (sunnah) rakats before and after the Isha prayer.

Muslims are encouraged to perform Witr prayer, a special odd-numbered prayer, after Isha.
