EVERY STARTUP COMPANY SHOULD DO THESE 5 THINGS
When we started the quarter, I detailed the mistakes we made in the last 6 months. While I regret some of those decisions or choices, I have learned from them, so I thought to share them with you, especially if you run a new company.
Never be stingy with visibility. The success of every company, especially a startup, depends on your company's reach. Run ads, spread the gospel about what you do through word of mouth, make cards, attend parties, shows, concerts, get on media platforms, pay influencers, speak at events, etc. Do everything you can to get the message out every day. This is your first responsibility.
Pay your highly skilled employees first. Most startups need marketers, or generally people with sales skills. So, this is not the time to get fancy, and pay people with many degrees with zero marketing skills. Spend money or do value exchange with people who have the skills to help grow your company's reach. Your success, before you begin to attract investors, depends mostly on marketing and sales.
Pay your teachable/loyal employees. So, there is a difference between loyal employees, and highly skilled ones. So, your highly skilled employees, frankly, may not be loyal, but they may get the job done- pay them o, so your business can grow. I didn't do this the right way, 'cos as an empath, I get easily irritated by arrogant people lol. But, if that arrogant person is your most talented staff, manage him/her/they, and make your loyal or teachable ones learn from the m.
I have learned from these mistakes as we grow our company's reach, and your big goal is to hit our first $100k this second half of the year. Yes, I know this may not be significant for you reading this, but you can help our company reach its sales goal for the rest of the year.
