How To Partner With Fear & Boost Your Confidence

Did you know that confidence is external and courage is internal? Both go hand in hand with one of my favorite concepts, “Partnering With Fear.” When you have confidence, courage, and clarity (see my previous post on clarity here), that’s where the magic happens; when you stand firm in who you are without any fear lingering, you will feel like you are in control of your life and your business. You will feel like you can attract and effectively talk to your Perfect Fit Client, ultimately leading to more money in your pocket and more success for your business!

So if you’ve ever felt like your goals are on a tightrope, and one misstep means a plunge into failure, realize that you're not alone. I’m here to help you partner with fear, turn it into a friend, and boost your confidence along the way:

1 - Reframe Your Mindset

Mindset is everything. So if you’re desiring change in your life, it’s time to assess your mindset, discover your mindset blocks, and reframe them. Yes, it is possible! Mindset shifts are indeed real. So let’s discuss where mindset comes into play when it comes to confidence. If you jot down three reasons why you lack confidence, take a look at those reasons and think about if they’re actually holding you back in life and/or business or if you just have a mindset block. When I was younger, I had a freak accident and broke my jaw, leading to me growing up with a crooked mouth. When it came to public speaking, I hated it because I was not confident in myself. But one day, I confronted myself and began to reframe my mindset, believing that all that happened to me when I was younger did not happen to me, but for me. I made a choice to not let my past and fear hold me back, but instead propel me forward.

2 - Sharpen Your Expertise

Continuous learning and enhancing your skills definitely play a role in deflating fear and boosting your confidence. When you share your gifts and knowledge with the world, you receive gratification from it. When you see that you’re hitting milestones and achieving your business goals (even hitting six figures!), you feel good about yourself, more motivated and self-assured in your talents and abilities. Always be learning - and don’t be afraid of failure either! Failure is a part of learning; we all need to witness and experience it in order to reach success.

3 - Set Realistic Goals

Starting a new business venture yet you’re completely freaking out? No problem! Setting goals - even the smallest of goals - can help you stay motivated, accountable, and on track as you move through your journey. Be sure to have realistic goals too; goals that are too vague or don’t have a plan of action behind them will not help them be less scary or help boost your confidence. Remember the S.M.A.R.T. goals method: they should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound.

4 - Build Your Resiliency Story

Being resilient means that you are able to bounce back from challenging times and adapt to whatever comes your way. So as you’re moving forward in your professional journey, always assess how you feel and act when those tough times come along. Do you immediately want to close down your business when you don’t have many clients coming to you? Or do you go back to the drawing board, reassess your marketing strategies, then follow up with a new plan? The second option means that you are activating your resiliency muscle, that you are building your resiliency story like all those other top entrepreneurs. Your inner courage will be unlocked and your outer confidence will shine. With fear by your side instead of blocking your path, you can find the light in any situation.
