Here are some tips for participants to follow for their next hackathons:

Before the Hackathon

  1. Form a team in advance: Gather a team with diverse skills and expertise to increase your chances of success.
  2. Choose a problem to solve: Identify a problem you're passionate about and have some knowledge about. This will help you stay motivated and focused during the hackathon.
  3. Research and prepare: Research the problem, gather resources, and prepare any necessary tools or software to get a head start.
  4. Set realistic goals: Define what you want to achieve during the hackathon and set realistic goals. This will help you stay focused and avoid burnout.

During the Hackathon

  1. Start with a solid plan: Take some time to plan out your project, including the features, design, and technical requirements.
  2. Break tasks into smaller chunks: Divide your project into smaller, manageable tasks to make progress and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
  3. Communicate with your team: Regularly communicate with your team members to ensure everyone is on the same page and to avoid duplication of work.

  6. Test and iterate: Test your project regularly and iterate based on feedback from mentors, peers, and users.

During the Presentation

  1. Practice your pitch: Practice your presentation several times to ensure you can clearly and concisely explain your project.
  2. Focus on the problem and solution: Emphasize the problem you're solving and how your project addresses it.
  3. Show don't tell: Demonstrate your project and its features instead of just talking about them.
  4. Be prepared for questions: Anticipate questions from judges and be prepared to answer them confidently and clearly.

After the Hackathon

  1. Follow up with feedback: Follow up with the organizers and mentors to gather feedback on your project and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Continuously improve: Continue to work on your project, incorporating feedback and iterating based on user feedback.
  3. Share your experience: Share your hackathon experience on social media, blogs, or forums to inspire others and reflect on your own learning.
