How Pacific Mountain Managed Exponential Growth with 3PL Central
Founded just a little over five years ago, Ontario, California-based Pacific Mountain Logistics, LLC has been one of the more remarkable success stories in the warehousing industry. In just a short span of time – even while facing a tough economy - they have managed to grow exponentially. In 2013, for example, they posted a staggering growth rate of 71%. This was followed by an increase of 43% in 2014. They are currently on pace for an additional increase of more than 30% for 2015.
So how was this young firm able to manage that incredible growth – while still keeping its customers happy in the process?
According, to CEO B.J. Patterson, Pacific Mountain’s success has come as a result of truly living and breathing their motto of “Growing Together” with their customers. They have backed this up through their practice of maintaining a large, flexible staff of highly skilled workers - and by offering a wealth of industry-specific expertise.
But perhaps most important of all, they have remained committed to providing their customers with access to the best – and most cost-effective – warehouse management technology available. That commitment led to their decision to partner up with one of today’s leading providers of Cloud-based WMS software, 3PL Central.
Founded by warehouse industry veterans, 3PL Central’s flagship WMS product, 3PL Warehouse Manager, was the first Cloud-based WMS ever created for the unique needs of third party logistics providers. And since Pacific Mountain first became a customer back in 2012, 3PL Warehouse Manager has been their ideal solution.
“We made the strategic shift to the Cloud about three years ago,” says Patterson, “but of all the areas in which we interact with our customers, we knew that none would be more important than the warehouse management technology we provide.”
A veteran of more than 30 years in the warehousing industry, 3PL Central CEO John Watkins concurred.
“As it serves as the day-to-day interface between a warehouse and its customers,” says Watkins, “a WMS system must deliver their brand promise every minute of every day.”
Fortunately for Pacific Mountain, 3PL Warehouse Manager been able to do all that and more.
“3PL Warehouse Manager has been great for both our warehouse – and our customers,” added Patterson, “Indeed, the software has helped both our warehouse and our customers to ‘Grow Together’.”
The software proved to be both easy to implement – and easy to use – especially for their customers – who particularly like that they can access the WMS through a standard browser window.
“Ease-of-deployment and use are of critical importance to our customers,” added Watkins, “In addition, we designed 3PL Warehouse Manager to be incredibly flexible – and infinitely scalable. This allows warehouses and their customers to expand with ease.”
The software is particular strong in one of the most critical tasks of all: handling EDI. 3PL Warehouse manager also came pre-wired for both Spring System and SPS – both of which are heavily used by Pacific Mountain’s customer base.
“In short,” adds Patterson, “3PL Warehouse Manager WMS has served as that ‘living, breathing’ extension of all that we believe in at Pacific Mountain. And considering how often our customers interact with the WMS, that’s essential.”
