How to overcome fears as a new hire?

Very often newly graduates or people with no or little experience face several issues while hired by the companies. In my experience, I quiet periodically noticed how the newcomers are afraid of failure.?

I want to point out some of the things that I've seen and help you overcome this "fears".

Let's go! ??

1. Feeling hesitation

????The most common problem fresher face is difficulty in voicing their opinion because of various reasons. You may have a different viewpoint on a particular topic, but you hesitate to tell in front of your manager, and you think your management does not encourage you.?

?All of us were a newcomer one day. You need to speak up, so you can be heard. One cannot make a career if never shares ideas or never makes a move to help "the company". Many of us had failed ideas for hundred times, but we also had another hundred ideas which were successful.

2. Lack of skills

????As a fresher, you don’t have the required technical and non-technical skills. You need to develop gradually.

?At the start, you need to be flexible and adaptable since you are transforming yourself from academic life to corporate life. You will develop your already existing skills and acquire new ones.

3. Problem in working as a team

????As a newcomer, you need to adapt to working in a team. It’s a difficult task because your way of thinking may not match with everyone.

?Do you remember all your student group projects? Well, this is almost the same thing, except here you are getting to be paid for doing it.?

4. Unsuitable workplace culture

????It is very much possible that the protocol and ethics of the company may not suit you. You may feel that there is no one in the company to solve your doubts. Your seniors are not co-operative and increasing your workload. Your management does not have a transparent system to follow.

?And yet again, there is always someone in the organization who will guide you and who will help you. There are thousands of people out there who share the same values as you do. Maybe at that very stage of career life you do not seem to know anyone in the company, but give them a chance, try to find colleagues who are more or less closer to your mindset and make the most out of it.?

It is possible that in spite of an area of your interest you may be disappointed with your job. Sometimes it may happen that the company makes you to do a task different from your role assigned in the offer letter. It may also happen that after working two to three months you realize that you have chosen the wrong field. At this very moment, many new hires quit their job.

But are you really a quitter? You need to think twice and take a positive step to your career and work to the best of your ability. Do not let the first failure fail your whole career.

And, remember, you need to enjoy what you are doing. If you have the feeling that the job is not bringing you happiness, then you are in a wrong place, my dear.
