How to Optimize & Monetize Your LinkedIn Brand

Is your LinkedIn business optimized and monetized?

For MOST people, sadly, the answer is NO.

Even many entrepreneurs and solopreneurs I know, with tens of thousands of LinkedIn followers, are not optimized to make money.?


There is a difference between getting “likes” on a post, and using your LinkedIn influence to make money.

Many people are addicted to the dopamine hit you get when somebody “likes” your post.

There is nothing wrong with that, I like it too, BUT if you have a business and you want to be able to pay your bills and not accumulate more credit card debt, it’s time to start setting your business up for success.


That’s what we’re going to BRIEFLY cover here in this newsletter.

The first thing to know is that we have to think of our business as a funnel.

This is one I created which comes from my digital course, The Solopreneur Operating System?

Every online business must be setup like a funnel.

For our purposes here, LinkedIn is the top of the funnel… and there are currently about 850 million LinkedIn users, and about 350 million active monthly users.

That is an EXCELLENT top of funnel.


So, let’s move down the funnel now.

Choose your niche, and if you don’t know how to do that, click here for a FREE GUIDE for that.

Be as specific as possible… we can service as many types of clients as we like, BUT WE CANNOT DO MARKETING FOR THEM ALL.


Anyway, for the purposes of this article, let’s say we’re trying to reach middle aged working moms who can afford our services.

That narrows it down to about 50 million possible clients… that is a nice pool to choose from.


Now, we use our content to get them into the top of the funnel.

We write content with solutions that you provide (coaching, lawyer, marketing, etc) to their problems (their life is falling apart, they need legal services, they need to their fix health, etc).

When, they check out your content, maybe they will look at your profile.

NOW, they are inside the top of our funnel. NICE!!!


This is where we want to get them to do something (Call To Action)… and a couple great things to do at this point is to:


  1. Capture their email somehow (newsletter or lead magnet)
  2. Offboard them to your website, where you can also capture their email and possibly even sell them stuff… if not now, at some point soon.

NOW they are moving down the funnel… understand?


Now from here, all sorts of things can happen, and this is why we’re only briefly talking about it here.


But, we want a:

  • Free/Low ticket item(s)
  • Mid ticket item(s)
  • High ticket item(s)

You can offer products/services like:

  • Digital courses
  • Webinars
  • Coaching
  • Speaking
  • Books


Some sales can be easy, like a $20 digital course or $99 group class.

But, our high ticket items might be more challenging, which is why we want to capture their info(name, email) so we can continue to market to them through our outreach methods, like email marketing.


Again, this is simply a quick high-level overview of a complex system. Execution is everything!

The first thing we really want to do is optimize our LinkedIn profiles for the best chance of moving them through our funnel.

If we’re lucky enough to get them to check our profile out, we want to make sure everything is in alignment. We only have one chance to make a first impression… make it count!
