Short answer: When needed. Let’s break it down;
.

?? If your website has a blog, update it at least twice monthly.
?? If your website doesn’t have a blog, but has a sign-up form (newsletter) or a place to book discovery calls etc, update it monthly.
?? If your calendar is linked on automation with your website, update it weekly.
?? If you have any customer relationship management (CRM) like HubSpot, etc, linked with your website, update it weekly.
?? Website copy should be refreshed yearly. Why? Your understanding of your ideal client's pain points gets better with time.?
?? Your website should be redesigned every 3 to 5 years. Why? Your website should be growing and evolving as your business grows.
What do you think your basic weekly and monthly website updates should be?
? Website backup?
? Plugins
? Themes
? Pages builder?
? Calendar management tools
? Customer relationships management tool (CRM)
? Mailing list subscribers management tools
? Broken links?
? Internal links
领英推荐
? Mobile responsiveness
? Website speed
What do you think your advanced website updates should be?
?? All of the above! Plus
?? What keywords is your website ranking for?
?? How your website is showing up on Google
?? Where do people discover and find your website?
?? Which page on your website do people visit the most and why?
Some people update their websites manually. Others use website tools that pull out everything for them. The choice is yours.?
The pros of using website tools to check and fix things on your website are that it saves you time and effort.
The cons is that it can be overwhelming seeing all the things that need fixing at once in the same place which can result in analysis paralysis. (A situation where you got so overwhelmed and did not take any action to fix it)
When was the last time you prioritise your website update?
