Did you know you can be punished by YouTube if you sell too much in your videos?
YouTube HATES it when it sees video makers sending viewers away from YouTube to other product websites.
Like all other social media platforms, YouTube's only priority is to keep people on its own website.
The more YouTube videos that viewers watch on YouTube, the more adverts they are shown, and therefore the more money YouTube makes.
Here's what YouTube will do if it catches you sending your viewers away from their website to buy your products too often:?
So how do we sell on YouTube successfully?
YouTubers that sell products/services tell me all the time that they want to send their viewers away from the YouTube website so that they can make sales.

Overall, we will be more successful in building revenue if we have as many subscribers as possible.
More subscribers = more regular viewers = more eyeballs to sell to in our videos.
Focussing 3 out of 4 videos on solely growing your YouTube audience will give you more eyeballs to sell to in the long term.
So just remember, DON'T oversell on YouTube.

?P.S. recently I realised there is a way to sell (sustainably) in 2 out of every 4 videos.
If you add email automation to your YouTube channel then you can send the viewers that you sent away from YouTube BACK to your channel in the future.
This cushions the impact of sending viewers away from YouTube and makes it more forgiving if you do it slightly more often.
