Occasion-based marketing is the use of events, occasions, and holidays to sell a brand to a target population in order to enhance sales based on the brand's accessory nature to the event's celebration or acknowledgment. For example, a confectioner may use Valentine's Day to send marketing messages to lovers for one, several, or all of its chocolate products. This strategy's key benefit is that it increases response rates since the target is more responsive due to the occasion-driven demand. This is due to the fact that consumers are more likely to purchase brands that allow them to express themselves to other members of society on special occasions in the weeks or days preceding the event.

If properly leveraged, event-based marketing may be a very powerful sales technique, therefore marketers should take advantage of it. The following are a few things to keep in mind in this regard:

Occasion-based marketing should not be implemented only because a huge event is approaching. The marketer must be confident that the event is relevant to his brand and sector. Emotional connection: If the occasion-based marketing plan is founded on a solid relationship with brand consumers, it is more likely to work. It is simpler for customers to connect and respond to occasion-based marketing communications when the marketer is in continual contact with them, for example, through social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram.

Creativity:

Carrying out occasion-based marketing activities in the same way that every other marketer in your business does is unlikely to attract attention or relax pocketbook strings on the market. The more imaginatively and innovatively an occasion-based marketing campaign is implemented, the more probable it is to capture the market's attention and provide the intended outcomes.
