Thanks Lynn for seeking my contribution. As mentioned in your post, parents are ready to send their kids back to nurseries I believe, if nurseries follow complete sterilization precautions, they should be allowed to open back their doors.
Although they should ensure the following;
- Train the teachers/attendants of how to carry on their interactions with kids.
- Avoid activities that might engage kids in touching unsterilized objects.
- Include lessons where kids are trained to cope with various scenarios they can encounter in Covid 19.
It is understandable that nurseries have faced major revenue loss but their management should be mindful that the parents who will be supporting their business get back on feet have also suffered financially in these tough times. Therefore if they do increase the fee/payment for the service it should be realistic.
Parents who will be willing to send their kids back should also realize that this is their choice so they should not be too demanding in this process as long as the nursery has qualified to function.
Children need, and I cannot stress enough, interaction with others. At this nascent stage their personalities need the grooming which can only be gained by new experiences and new people. They should not be denied this right as we owe it to our future generations. We should be doing our duty of ensuring that we bring as much normalcy as possible.
As a community we should be supporting each other in creating and nourishing a new world order that Covid 19 has laid grounds of. We all have to stay united and help each other grow. This too shall pass, and we have to come out stronger, together!
