How a new sustainable business model is developed?

In some markets, such as electronics, refurbished products are a common choice for economic and sustainability reasons. By creating long-lasting plants, we at Pieralisi began reflecting on this theme many years ago.

Why not refurbish industrial and olive oil plants, considering they represent a significant investment for entrepreneurs and are made of durable material that isn't easily disposable?

It sounded like a great idea, but we didn't ignore ?the potential doubts about refurbished products, which most often aren't the first choice for those seeking maximum safety:

  • Will they be as reliable as new ones?
  • How do we keep up with new quality and safety standards?
  • Will they be covered by warranty?
  • Will there be ongoing support?

We worked hard to answer these legitimate questions, eventually developing a new sustainable business model: top-of-the-line refurbished equipment, now available on the market under the brand 2Life by Pieralisi.

It's called Second Life because the basic idea is to truly give products a second life until they become machinery that is "equivalent to new".

To achieve such a result, the process we implemented follows specific procedures:

  1. Regeneration: Carried out by highly specialized personnel, using only original components as spare parts. The overhaul is done according to defined and traceable protocols.
  2. Update: Each piece of equipment is updated and adapted to respect current technological and safety standards. This step elevates refurbished equipment to a higher level.
  3. Warranty: Each piece of equipment is guaranteed with the same terms proposed for new ones. Another difference that makes circular thinking authentic.
  4. Support: 2Life products are supported over time by authorized Pieralisi technicians. With 2Life, we feel we have achieved a new Circular Goal that meets today's dual needs.
  5. Business: Entrepreneurs acquire, on favorable terms, equipment equivalent to new, safe and up-to-date in every functionality, covered by warranty and support.
  6. Sustainability: By giving a second life to used plants, we avoid the disposal of significant amounts of material with sustainable waste management, less use of raw materials, and consequently, a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions.

This circular thinking is now applied to the regeneration of crushers, malaxers, decanters and vertical centrifugal separators. Thus, offering a real solution to the industry and olive oil producers.

After all, it's the application to real needs that validates a sustainable business model.
