When I speak to rising professionals in their field I realize even though they have kicked butt for many years, the second they sit in the interview chair their confidence melts away in just seconds.
Because you have to get the job to show what you can do, how do you nail an interview?
Treat it like a consulting meeting.
- What are the key issues the company wants to solve by bringing someone like you on board?
- Why are you the best candidate based on the frameworks you successfully applied to problems in past job which you will use to fix their most pressing pain point?
- Who on the team would be most relieved if you came on board to clear their plate so you know who your #1 campion would be?
- When will you turn the interview questions into a brainstorming session consulting style so the employer can get a feel for your reasoning process?
- How will you tie off the session in a succinct summary to make sure they know you kept thinking about next action steps for success even after the meeting ended?
