How My Microsoft CoPilot AI Service Paid for Itself Several Times Over Last Week!
Chris Daines
Working with Sussex businesses to secure, modernise and manage their IT services.
I received a call from a colleague looking for information on a piece of work carried out all the way back in 2019. Considering how difficult it can be for me to recall events from just last week, you can imagine my reaction—this was not a task I was excited to tackle.
But instead of dreading the time-consuming hunt through old files and emails, I decided to try something different. I opened my Outlook email client on my phone and tapped the ‘CoPilot’ button.
With a simple prompt asking for any email references about the service in question, CoPilot got to work. In seconds, it sifted through five years of emails and presented a concise summary, complete with the relevant contact details buried in a 2019 email.
What would have been a 20-minute chore—one I’d likely put off—was resolved in moments. Better yet, I was able to share the information with my colleague immediately.
Encouraged by this success, I tested CoPilot on a few other elusive pieces of information. With better prompting, I uncovered missing details that had been frustrating me, saving even more time and effort.
For small businesses, tools like CoPilot haven’t always been easily accessible due to the upfront costs of annual subscriptions. That’s set to change next month, with the introduction of monthly payment options for CoPilot.
I’ve tried many technologies that, if removed from my workflow, I’d barely notice their absence. CoPilot, however, has quickly proven itself indispensable. If it were switched off tomorrow, you’d find me making a strong case to get it back—immediately.
For anyone still on the fence, it might be time to start looking at Microsoft CoPilot and how it might start to help you!
The time saving's of using the CoPilot assistant are real, and time is expensive.
