How Much Is Too Much
Is there such a thing as posting too often on Social Media? Yes there is. Especially when utilizing social media for business. Too many posts not only turns off followers, but frequent posting can also cause an account to be flagged as potential spam. In addition, all content needs to be "target-focused" as well as engaging and informative. If a business is posting 10-15 times a day they're likely throwing content out there to see what sticks.
What are the rules to posting on Social Media? Truly, none set in stone. Use common sense and think about what you like and don't like when looking at social platforms. Have you ever unfollowed someone because they posted too often? Even when it was a friend or family member? Think about how annoyed potential customers feel when beaten over the head with posts from your business. Then scale back content to 2-3 posts per day which is the norm.
Content needs to have thought put into it and it needs to be given time to breathe. If you publish something you feel will be effective but then publish something else 5 minutes later as an afterthought, odds are the message you wanted to convey to your audience will be lost in the clutter.
One more thing, just because a platform exists doesn't mean you have to use it. Once again, think about your target. Where are they? What are their needs? Choose your platforms accordingly and post sparingly and with thought.
