How Much Time Do You Have?

"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalms 90:12 NIV
"Life is short" is something we all say, whether we believe and understand it or not. But what we do afterwards really determines how we'll live this short life.
Since life is short, you may believe that now is the opportunity to do all the crazy things you can think off because you don't know how long you'll be around.
You may believe it's an opportunity to tick off all items on your bucket list, whether they are good or bad.
You may believe it's an opportunity to make an impact and change as many lives as possible.
You may not even know what to do and just wing it.
The Psalmist says that with life being short, you have to be wise. Wisdom comes from having the right information, deep understanding and the right application of knowledge. I believe it's an opportunity to learn and apply, in whatever capacity we find ourselves.
We exist in a world that has so much to give back if we as individuals decide to strike while the iron is hot. Pushing to later what you can do today implies that you're not exactly sure of how short life is.
How much time do you think you have to be all you can be? How much time do you think you have to learn and apply? How much time do you think you have to express the wisdom of God in all you do?
If you want to start something new, you will always have reasons why now isn't the best time. The fear of the unknown might have paralysed you. Your current commitments might be choking out the time you need to explore that new project. But you don't know what tomorrow holds.
As someone who knows how to get things started, I'm often surprised at the number of times I also let the fear of starting overcome me. Procrastination hits hard and I continue saying, "I'll start tomorrow" until two years roll by. However, I'm grateful for the projects I could start.
If life is short, what do you believe should be done with it? And how much time do you think you have to accomplish everything? Do what you can today.
