Scenario prompts 27 November 2024
Today’s prompts are reprogrammable cells, social value, technology disruption, a lollipop interface for simulating taste, and customised implants and strategy development.
Use the prompts to question relevance, opportunity vs threat, if vs when, timelines, impact and responses. Consider multiple futures.

A lollipop interface for simulating taste in virtual environments
The researchers embedded pouches in the device that hold small quantities of agarose gel. A small amount of voltage (2 V) activates chemicals in the gel, forcing it to the surface of the lollipop. When the gel mixes with the saliva in the user's mouth, it produces flavor.
Customized implants manufactured directly at the treatment site using 3D printing
The current methods for producing patient-specific implants are time-consuming and significantly prolong the time to surgery. The use of a point-of-care (PoC) platform aims to speed up the manufacturing process. The aim is to plan and produce implants on site in the clinic.
