“How Much of my Income Should I spend on a Mortgage?”

“How Much of my Income Should I spend on a Mortgage?”

This question is posed weekly by clients, to which there is no clear cut answer. Different lenders have different answers to this question, based on a multitude of factors. Answers range from 26% - 38% - 41% - 45% - 55% of your total monthly income. My suggested solution is much simpler: Decide what you can afford & what fits into your budget, regardless of what the lender states you are qualified for. You’ll thank me.
