The Casket: How Much Land Does a Man Need?

This Sunday, my Bishop at The Nairobi Chapel shared an awakening sermon centered around his experience and fight with Burnout and depression.?
Our generation is always on the go. So much speed and chase that a great number of us forget to take time to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the current moment.?
The problem with success is that the formula for achieving success is the same formula for burnout.
We chase fame, wealth, holidays, and titles all in an effort to live or make life, yet amidst all this, life itself passes by as we chase an illusion. Our inability to recognize ENOUGH and our continued need for more is seen in so many trivial aspects of our lives from how many clothes we have, how many photos we take, and how we drive on our roads - Kenya, Nairobi especially, is a special case :), how many pairs of shoes we have and even our insatiable appetite for Land aka plots.?
Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans
As I walked into the "small room" this morning, this question came back into my mind, a question that the Bishop had asked during the sermon “How Much Land does a man need?” I realized that the size of my final resting place would be approximately the same size as this room, yet we spend so much of our time trying to amass so much that sometimes I forget this reality.

We buy things we don't need, with money we don't have, to impress people we don't like.
As we chase those dreams, remember, there will be no U-Haul behind your hearse only your family with tears rolling down their cheeks, my fancy car and suit and 7-bedroom mansion will not make this final journey with me. This is not a call for mediocrity, but rather a call to prioritize what is important.?
So, how much Land does a man need?…. Only 6 by 3 feet… just enough to fit his Casket.
PS: Read the Classic Short Story by Leo Tolstoy Titled "How Much Land Does a Man Need" Here is the summary. A question he asked himself after realizing that chasing more and more in life would never lead to happiness. He delves into a tale of a farmer who is rushing through life aiming to accumulate increasingly more land.
