How much will Digital transform your business?

There are sometimes you will probably ask yourself, how much will digital transform my business? It is a fair question when you are trying to balance how much energy and money you will dedicate to your digital transformation

Because we all know there are a lot of things happening at the same time that require your attention and investments, right?

Well, the bad news is that Digital will transform everything in your company and if you don't go digital you will cease to exist as a business.

Do you think it is too dramatic?

Well there are several examples we can use to describe how big a digital transformation impact is and how it transforms entire industries or companies, but I will use a very simple example, something we learn since we are kids, we use normally in our day to day life (or at least we used to), and that will be gone forever because of digital:

Handwriting

Handwriting relevance in our day to day life has declined significantly, how many things you really need to handwrite these days?

Most of the written communication it's done from your phone, tablet or computer, I can't even remember the last time I had to handwrite something, and yes, there are still lots of people that like to take handwritten notes, but that's not a need, it's a choice.

According a BBC article there are countries like Finland that are evaluating stop teaching handwriting skills to children in schools and replace it with other forms of typing.

And when there are still lots of people that will continue using it for artistic or because of lack of access of computers in certain societies and geographies, the need to teach handwriting will not be compulsory.

So, should I go Digital?

I don't think that's even the right question, I think the right question should be, how can I speed up my company transformation to digital?

If you are not transforming your business to Digital you should start right away (it might be too late)!
