How much demand is there for fibertime???
Every time fibertime?? deploys into a township, we find at least twice as many homes as recorded by the national census. Either we have coincidentally stumbled across the only under-recorded township populations in SA, or the census for townships is 50% understated.?
I’m going with the latter. This means that SA has a population of 111 million people, of which 100 million live in townships.?
That sounds like a crazy number, but is it?
Our economy is the biggest in Africa, and we attract people from all over the continent. Immigrants (and some locals) aren’t wildly excited for the “authorities” to know where they live or that they even exist.
And then there’s the proof before our eyes. Walk through any township and compare what you see with the official data… the data ain’t right ??.
100 million people are living in townships.
That’s the total potential market for fibertime??.?
100 million people buying a R5 fibertime?? voucher every day. That’s R500 million a day. That’s R182 billion a year.?
That’s fibertime??.

I look forward to having coffee with to discuss further. #LeaveNoOneBehind

9 个月@Johan, very true. However, looking at the statistics indicated by Alan, the market segment found in townships are tech savvy and no longer loyal to a particular ISP due to inconsistent billing by these ISPs, loyalty to stick with one ISP is guaranteed to customers who are locked into a cellphone contract. Prepaid customers behave differently, they focus maily on instant value added services offered by various regardless providers. Hence we see other small prayers in Telecoms space.
