What does it TRULY take to succeed?
Reasons aren’t going to get you to where you want to go….
Results come from an obsession with getting yourself to take action.
You and I both know, so many people talk about things, and they get excited about things, but why is it that people have all the resources to succeed, fail?
Resources are not the problem, the problem is people are not resourceful enough.
What does it take to succeed?
The answer is - MASSIVE RELENTLESS ACTION.
Anybody who can constantly take action and then adjust their approach.
When something doesn’t work, change it up.
Try something else.
Try something slightly different.
Try again, and again, and again.
So if you’re saying I want to start a business, in a new industry, and I’m gonna succeed, it’s gonna require a different level of commitment and what’s going to get you to take action, when you’re feeling fearful?
When you’re feeling uncertain?
When you’re feeling like it’s new - or unfamiliar?
That’s what you’ve got to deal with even before you get to the skills.
Because otherwise the skills will be there, but you won’t follow through.
You won’t execute.
How many people do you know that know what to do but they don’t do what they know?
Reasons come first, answers come second.
If you get a strong enough why to do something you can figure out how to do anything, but you gotta know what that mission is.
In my life, if it’s just to make money, that’s not enough.
In order to get yourself to follow through, you’re going to need something even bigger than simply making money.
It’s really got to be something in your core.
Figure out WHY you’re doing this?
What is the REASON?
Your true WHY?
That will get you to take action when the tough times come.
But along with this mission, this why of yours, you need a tool.
It’s the tool of momentum.
This single tool, I’ve come back to again and again in my life, and it’s SO SIMPLE.
It’s the difference between success and failure.
It’s the difference between sustained success, and someone who fizzles away after a while.
We MUST understand momentum.
What is momentum?
I’m sure you’ve seen a sports game at some point where one team seems to be dominating, and then something happens.
There’s a moment when the CERTAINTY in the other team shifts, where all of a sudden, their hunger gets ignited or somebody makes a play or somebody dodges, or somebody does something courageous and inspires people and there’s this energetic shift and all of a sudden BOOM - the game changes.
Who is leading now becomes the follower, and who was the follower now becomes the leader.
If that’s what you want for your own business, that’s what this post is all about.
We all get momentum.
Sometimes it can be negative momentum.
You know how I mean…. When you feel kind of stuck?
Where you find yourself unable to execute and follow through.
How do we get out of that quickly?
If you can’t get yourself to execute, if you just pass on knowledge, what we’ve done is we’ve informed ourselves.
I want you to INFLUENCE yourself and those around you.
That’s what a leader does.
A leader is a person who can influence the thoughts, feelings, emotions, and actions of another human being.
If you can become that kind of a leader, you will meet no limits to the quality of your life, and the quality of the impact you’re going to have.
So what creates momentum, and what changes it?
How do we change it if we don’t have it where we want it to be?
We have to ensure, when you don’t feel good, you still execute.
Skills are invaluable, but knowledge isn’t power.
Execution trumps power every single day of the week.
Execution is the ultimate power.
How do we get ourselves to execute, how do we get ourselves to take action?
Mission will do it.
If you have a strong enough mission, you’ll do it even when it gets tough.
But then you also need the tool of momentum.
We’ll start in the upper left corner of the photo - with potential.
What is the potential of a human being?
What are human being capable of?
The answer is anything.
Human potential is truly extraordinary.
But - do most people's RESULTS in their life, reflect their true POTENTIAL?
We both know the answer is no.
What people can do is truly amazing, what people will do is usually disappointing.
And it’s not because they’re not capable, it’s because FEAR gets in the way.
They don’t have a large enough mission.
They’re afraid, afraid of failure, rejection, or things not working out.
They allow the fearful part of the mind take over, and they LOSE MOMENTUM.
That’s when we get stuck.
The way we get out of that process:
Do you think it’s possible to take massive action and still get lousy results?
If you’re in sales, and you ask someone:
“You wouldn’t want to buy this from me… would you?”
Maybe you aren’t speaking this verbally, but maybe your energy and your body language is.
The way you speak is.
There is uncertainty, or hesitation present when this is the case.
The real secret to creating momentum, is a sense of CERTAINTY.
I’m sure you’ve seen an athlete at some point where they’re coming out to shoot a free throw, and even if you aren’t paying attention to the game you’re saying out loud:
“They’re gonna miss it.”
And sure enough, they do.
Have you ever had an experience like that?
What was it you had noticed, that made you know they’re gonna miss it?
You can tell by the way they carry themselves, and by the way they play and run.
There was some uncertainty present.
VS the best in the world, like if you see Lebron James approach the hoop, there is not an OUNCE of uncertainty in his body.
That CERTAINTY is where the momentum comes from.
When people say:
“You know, I tried that once, it didn't work out.”
When people say that I always think - BULLSHIT.
Because usually what ‘trying’ is is you’re uncertain somethin’s going to work.
You have some FEAR.
So what do you do?
You tap even LESS of your POTENTIAL.
When you’re unsure, and you think you might fail, you’re not going to tap your full potential.
You might tap a LITTLE potential.
When you think you’re going to fail, or you’re not sure if it’s going to work out, are you going to take massive action and give your all?
In the back of your mind thinking - it may not work out?
No - you’re gonna reserve some, protect your mind, protect your emotions, protect your ego, protect your emotions.
So, you have VERY LITTLE CERTAINTY
You tap VERY LITTLE POTENTIAL
You take LITTLE ACTIONS
And you get poor little RESULTS
When you get poor RESULTS, what does that do to your own BELIEF?
You go: “See, I told you it wouldn’t work.”
“I told you it was a waste of time.”
“I told you it wouldn’t happen.”
And if you do try to attempt it again, you’re even MORE uncertain
Then you tap LESS POTENTIAL
You tap LESS ACTION
And you get even WORST RESULTS
It all starts with CERTAINTY.
Certainty and momentum.
Do you ever notice how happy people get happier?
And sad people who are depressed, get even more depressed?
How people who are tending to make progress, tend to make even more progress?
People who are failing, tend to fail more often?
All that is, is MOMENTUM.
Something you can change so quickly when you understand this simplistic dynamic.
If you’re going in a direction that is making you not succeed, how would you flip it?
You could say you could use more of your potential.
But the potential is already there.
You could say you’d take more action, but massive action WITH uncertainty is what you do when you say I’m trying.
In fact, you don’t even take massive action.
Trying is like:
“I’m tying, I’m uncertain, I tried it.”
“I took a little action, I got poor results. I tried it a few times, it didn't work.”
If right now, you’re going to make a decision to change your life, you have GOT to create that CERTAINTY right now.
How?
If you have to have done something before to be confident, then you’re limited to what you can do.
There’s practicing a lot in private, so you’ll have rewards in public.
People look at someone who’s so successful and they look at them and think:
“They’re so lucy.”
No.
You don’t see how many thousands of shots that Michael Jordan did everyday - 15000 shots a day in the off season.
Literally, with practice he got up at 5am, and practiced 5 days a week.
15000 shots a day.
That’s how he performed so ‘magically’ in public.
You get rewarded in public, for what you practice in private.
How do we turn it around when it’s not going well for us?
When we’re in a slump, and we have negative momentum?
When we have poor results, and it makes us feel fearful?
And now we’re uncertain, and now that we’re uncertain, we don’t execute.
We tap little potential, and we take little action.
Now we’re in that negative momentum slump.
How do we reverse it?
We don’t tap more potential - that’s already there.
We don’t just take more action - taking more action when you’re trying or you’re uncertain, it won’t work.
You’ve got to change your CERTAINTY.
How do we do that?
We do it by getting RESULTS in ADVANCE in the mind.
The mind does not the difference between something that you vividly imagined emotionally, and vividly imagined visually - and something you actually experienced.
This is how we’re going to create results in advance, so that we have the certainty -
You tap more POTENTIAL
You take more ACTION
And we start to get RESULTS that reflect that.
You have a set of beliefs about what you’re capable of.
We have unconscious beliefs about everything.
We need to:
SEE
FEEL
EXPERIENCE
and VISUALIZE in the mind.
Over and over again, with enough repetition that we get certain.
These great athletes I mentioned previously, they execute after that repetition.
Repetition in the body, and repetition in the mind.
We do this through embodying our future self.
Here’s how it works:
Imagine; the BEST possible version of you, of the person that you could be in the future, as well as what your life would BE like as that person (version of you) in that future vision.
How do they:
?think, feel, interact with others, navigate stressful or challenging scenarios, carry themselves, etc.
What phrases are they saying or thinking?
How are they going through their day-to-day lives?
What habits and routines are they doing now?
What values does your future self live by?
What emotions, thoughts, and actions does your future self take? How do they dress? How do they talk? What do their posture and physiology feel and look like in your body? How healthy are they?
This is an extremely challenging exercise of mental fortitude because your survival brain will want to get you stuck dwelling upon things and pains of the past…. Or it keeps us hyperfocused on our external reality and how to constantly control it (resistance).
This is what it means, in essence, to release and let go.
Surrender to the control your brain and mind has over you and your entire second to second of living / surviving.
You have to have peace and gratitude for the lessons of the past and the present moment.
This can be extremely challenging and overwhelming.
You then have gratitude for the future you have envisioned in your mind, you’ve seen it, lived it, felt it, tasted it.
You allowed yourself to fully submerge into that being, as if it was an injection from a needle… coursing through your veins and consuming the entirety of your being.
Close your eyes, envision it, feel it, see it.
EXPERIENCE IT FULL ON AS IF IT WAS HAPPENING
Allow it to spread and course through your veins, up into your head, down your neck into your abdomen, into your shoulders, out of your arms, into your fingertips, down your legs, and all of the way down to your toes.
Keeping your eyes closed during this experience allows you to really tap into this space of consciousness.
Become it. Feel it. Live it. Experience all of it. Make it as beautiful as you desire.
I am a believer in God (infinite intelligence), and that we are all creators or god.
We are powerful creators, and because of this, we have the capabilities to create an incredible future we want to create for ourselves, as big as we desire.
?Where our focus goes, it grows whatever we place our focus on. This is, in essence, the law of assumption, and the law of attraction, and the law of manifestation happening!
Be mindful, of what you focus on.
We tend to get so caught up in the external world, that our focus grows on things that destroy our inner peace and solitude.
Therefore, if we expend that energy (emotion is energy in motion) focusing on the external world and the small minute details that add up in a day, you may as well utilize that incredible life force to create and manifest with intention.
We have been unintentionally manifesting things events and places that we do NOT desire into our lives, because of where we are placing our focus on a second-to-second basis throughout our day.
I know what it is like to be so caught up in the failures and pains of the past, I’ve been there myself for most of my life.
Sometimes we know all of the personal development and life coaching tools, but we still find ourselves thinking about things that have already passed that we cannot control.
Focusing on what we cannot control.
Whether it’s something you did that you are shameful of in the past that you can’t let go of, a failure trying to start something new that was WAY outside of your comfort zones, a past heartache, or wondering what could be wrong with yourself, a health goal we weren’t able to achieve.
We have to focus on the gratitude of the lessons in life, and thank them for their service, and allow them to release from the body.
The thing is, referencing and focusing on the past, only creates (manifests) more of the past, into our present reality.
We have to decide today, to stop referencing what’s possible for our future self if we are stuck in the past.
When we are stuck in the past, our energy (emotions) are stuck in the past.
When you are able to enter the present moment and BE your future self, you will liberate yourself of the limitations and boundaries and energy storage (emotion).
This is why we feel so tired, exhausted, and mentally overwhelmed all of the time. Our focus is everything.
Our past does not equal our future.
You are always one decision away from a completely different life. This is our chance to intentionally manifest what we desire into our lives, as we are powerful creators and manifesting 24/7 - 365 days a year.
The consciousness of this alone will transform your life.
Create a future that is so exciting and compelling for YOU.
Not anybody else.
Do not limit yourself here.
It gives you something to anchor into, a vision, a goal, to achieve and strive for.
This is so crucial because fuzzy targets don’t get hit. We need to set a clearly defined intention and focus our energies accordingly.
That way you practically and correctly do this is to feel, think like, and carry yourself, like that future self, in the present moment.
Living in, and especially feeling that gratitude as if you were already living as that future self, now, and has manifested that incredible future of yours.
It will not only give you more energy, and release emotions stored in the body, but it will also give you the fuel you need to get to your next level in life.
Wherever you’re at at this moment now.
These actions and intentional efforts won’t seem like such a daunting task when you are taking them from the future self you are choosing to be and live as in the present moment.
You will begin to draw people, places, events, and things into your life.
The most ‘interesting’ occurrences will begin to manifest in your life.
Sometimes form places you never would have imagined… even as your future self.
I’ve been living this experiment for a little over 2 years now, and although it has not been easy, perfect, and at times incredibly overwhelming, it has been worth every second and every bit of intention and has allowed me to completely redesign and recreate my life for the better.
You will make progress.
You will fall back.
You will progress further.
You will fall back.
You will progress even further….

The amount of uncomfortable growth and expansion you experience will be uncomfortable….. You are peeling away layers of pains, conditioning, sorrows, insecurities, fears, and worries, all of which you’ve experienced or have programmed into our minds for so long.
Liberate yourself.
Your future is worth it.
Your energy levels will SKYROCKET.
We have so many programmed reactions and responses in our lives, that were never really ours, to begin with.
They were given to us.
Given by family, friends, experiences, pains, fears, and worries.
Neuroplasticity shows us that you can literally rewire your brain, and therefore, your mental and behavioral patterns, to become a new person.
This isn’t something to make us feel unworthy of where we are now, we are all 100% worthy and nobody can take that away from us.
We as creators are designed to evolve, grow, and constantly move forward to the next level.
If we aren’t growing, were unhappy.
Happiness equals growth.
I can say this from experience.
This is why living in and feeling and taking actions from your future vision that excites us in the present moment is not about becoming more worthy or more loved or compatible as a human…
It’s also about being able to feel special. Feel significant. Feel proud of who you are.
And there is nothing wrong with wanting any of those things (often stripped from social conditioning).
It’s about becoming the next BEST version of you that you can imagine so that you can experience more joy, love, gratitude, peace, calmness, abundance, happiness, and more meaningful connections with others.
It is all about finding out what your true power is as a creator to manifest the life which you desire.
The person you are BEING right now, in the present moment, has an incredible domino effect on your future and the future lives of those around you.
So create something especially exciting and enticing that you can get super excited about for yourself.
Then, every day, every moment, you will practice being that future version of yourself, NOW.
Your Future self has to become embodied into the new self you’ve created to manifest into reality.
Think, carry yourself, and talk like them;
Be them around everyone.
BUT THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART:
Be your future self when nobody else is watching.
When you are alone.
When nobody else can know what you are doing.
Practice in private, to reap the rewards in public.
You will truly be blown away at what you’ve intentionally manifested and created.
Live through your values and stand firm to them as your future self.
Decide, that you are going to take the time out and do this exercise.
And remember, it will challenge the very programming and conditioning that is so deeply within all of us, it is going to be insanely uncomfortable, but IT WILL BE WORTH IT.
Your future is worth it.
Your future self is dependent upon it.
Create so much certainty through showing up as that person NOW, that you can't help but tap more CERTAINTY and take more ACTION and get the RESULTS you've been chasing for so long.
