How Much Can You Give vs How Much Can You Get

If there was a conspiracy behind the assassination of John F. Kennedy, one reason would be the threat he posed to the direction Society was flowing in.

He was against the flow.

And he was against the flow because Society was flowing in the wrong direction.

Arguably, it still is.

In his inauguration address in the month and year of my own birth, he said,

"ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."

There is such power in those words, isn't there?

Buy One; Give One

I am a most fortunate person in that I am beginning to find myself surrounded by people who are in their own flow, yet are flowing against a cultural trend of greed, entitlement, and self-service.

These people are all Entrepreneurs - Entrepreneurs who are looking to one-another to make changes that do not require the permission or inclusion of governments or legislation.

Buy One; Give One are a great example of this New Entrepreneurial Spirit. This is a powerful association of businesses who ask, "How much can we give?" rather than "How much can we get?"

Typically, giving impacts mirror the service or product our customers buy in to.

  • You buy a television? We give the gift of sight through medical care;
  • You buy a book? We fund educational materials for a school;
  • You buy a book we've printed? We plant trees in an area needing reforestation;
  • You buy one of our bottles of wine? We fund clean water wherever it is needed.

A Generous Spirit

This generous spirit goes beyond the excellent opportunities provided by the likes of B1G1. It infuses everything this kind of Entrepreneurial business does.

It means that giving value drives all the activity of our business.

We are continuously looking for ways to add value through all our interactions, products, and services. Hey, you don't even have to buy from us - just dealing with us should be an experience that leaves you better off.

And that, my friends, is the Spirit of Entrepreneurialism that Kennedy was pointing towards... all in all, a Capital idea!
