How to move closer to your dreams

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
Dreaming is a incurable disease. Dreams only provokes us. Our damn need creates actions. Better be a steady mind individual. That's the aim of the human life. Instead of realizing their dreams, too many people never get started, too busy in thinking, why they cannot achieve their dreams. Things like: 1. I have failed many times in the past. 2. I do not have enough knowledge. 3. I’m not so talented. 4. I do not have enough experience. 5. I do not have enough money 6. I’m not lucky. 7. Who I am to dream of making such an impact. 8. ... and so on. They defeat themselves before they even get started!
Everything begins in the heart and mind. Every great achievement began in the mind of one person. They dared to dream, to believe that it was possible. Remember that dreams don’t have to only exist when you are sleeping. One of the biggest lessons I have learned in the last ten years is that anything is truly possible. With hard work, determination and some smart planning, you really are capable of so much more than you think. Don’t ever underestimate what you are capable of. Remember to dream big, very big.
“If you take responsibility for yourself you will develop a hunger to accomplish your dreams.” – Les Brown. Nothing will feed your hunger for making a difference more than pursuing your dream. It will add meaning to your life and make your efforts worthwhile. It will make you wake up every morning with exhilaration and enthusiasm. Of course, knowing what you want to do, and where you want to go on with your life. Many, if not most people, don’t plan their lives, their objectives, their trip, or the steps they need to take to reach said dreams.
Some just drift through live, subject to its ups and downs, to its happenstance, and fortune (good or bad, and with no action on their part), while others follow the herd, others, or entities that seem to have the answers to all their questions (be it religious, political, similarly minded groups, or such - no criticism, just stating a fact!), finally ending up where those people or groups wanted to go, or you to go, but not where you wanted to go, if you had asked yourself the question.
In other words, they let their lives follow the path of fortune or others, not that of their desires, many times out of comfort, laziness, or simply ignorance. Once knowing what you want of life, take the necessary steps to get there. If you know where you want to go, or what you want to do with your life, you then have to decide what to do to get there. Do you have to study, grow some savings, do it alone, do it with somebody else, can it wait or does it have to be started immediately, are their shortcuts or do you definitely have to dedicate some years to get there, etc. etc. Once you ask, and answer, those questions, well you have to get on your horse and get going.
Understand that many times it’s the journey, much more than the goal, that’s what your life is really all about. When people reach their goals, meet their expectations, and accomplish their objectives, they all come to discover that that moment, is but a fleeting glimpse of happiness, and that they are shortly after, left with a sense of loss, letdown and frustration. This because those who are the most accomplished, feel most content, and are the most filled and fulfilled with energy and life, are those that are active, in the pursuit of their goals, and with hope of the expectations to come.
In other words, it’s always better to travel with hope in your heart, than to finally arrive at your destination. What most people don’t understand is that it’s the trip, following those dreams, and both encountering and enjoying all the ups and downs, Topsy turvy roads, detours, adventures, experiences, and overall fun on the way, that is what life is all about, more than the end of the road itself. My objective (chosen but when I was 15 years old at SSC I was very lucky to top my school and again top my college at graduation.
Following my dream (I am still doing it, and most surely will continue doing so, until I am no more) all the rest of my life fell into place almost without me realizing it. In this, my pursuit, I changed life careers twice, had a bout of depression that made me want to end it all, got out of it, travelled the world, built a project that is today the pride of my heart, and much, much more, but most importantly I never, ever stopped following my dream, and doing so, have become content, satisfied and am, at my age, still looking forward to what is to come.
Don’t forget to enjoy the ride. Many times we are so worried, preoccupied and overcome with today, we forget to enjoy the trip. On any holiday, voyage, or trip we may lose our baggage, our flight, our passport, and our time, but it we let ourselves get overwhelmed by those facts, we will have lost it all, for we have let the ordinary humdrum, the over-dimensioned reactions to happenstance and sometimes simple bad luck, to obscure what we were really after, which was to enjoy the journey and have fun. Life is all about the journey, but it’s also about enjoying the process, accepting the setbacks, but never forgetting our objective, and the enjoyment of its pursuit.Cheers!
