How To Move To Another Mastodon Server
Much like the rest of us, Twitter caught on fire and you started to consider your options. Mastodon was an interesting option, so you did your research and planted yourself inside an available Mastodon server.
Well, lo and behold, here comes another server that you'd like to move to for whatever reason. Here's how.
In this example, I'm moving from StudioNPC.net to Mastodon.actor. For best results, use two different browsers. I used Safari and Firefox.
3. Click on create an account alias and type in the handle of the OLD account as directed. Then click "CREATE ALIAS."
If you did it correctly, you'll now see the alias appear under the button.

4. Switch to the other browser (I used Safari) and log into your OLD server. For me, that was StudioNPC.net.
5. Navigate to Account Settings and click the configure it here this time.
6. Type in the handle of the NEW account (for me, [email protected]). Type in the password (or whatever info requested - it shows password here, but asked for a current username for me). Click MOVE FOLLOWERS.
7. And you're done! In a few moments, your followers will be automatically migrated to the new account and your old account will receive a redirect.
Should you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them as best I can. Welcome to Mastodon!

2 年I’m still figuring out where I’ll move to since where I landed in 2019 was just an experiment. Any good suggestions?
