How To Motivate & Communicate with your Teams BEFORE OFFICE STARTS to get best out of them Every Day - 9 Simple Stupid Steps to Proceed

Researches prove, initial 2 hours are crucial about how the entire day will be for any human being. Let your team get to know you care for their productivity & growth.

Let them know you are their first official priority in the morning & vice-versa. Let them feel they deserve your first attention. Let them prepare to bring out their best for the entire day joyfully. Let them look forward to come to office & start contributing. But how does it happen, how do you make it happen?

We all want dose of motivation, we have to keep going. To get inspired is everybody's duty, but not all the time, in all circumstances, at all places we can be inspired?

Yeah? So as a Leader It becomes all the more important that we pump in more energy, happiness, joy, and motivation into our teams. This can only be done with 10X - ie in order to pump that energy that zeal we as leader need to check are we motivated or inspired enough ourselves?

After all without Teams, Leaders are less productive. With right teams productivity improves to 10x even 100x.

Down below is a minute's morning video I am forwarding that can be used as a sample to take reference from. This video is exclusively for my small team of 10 people consisting of Content Writing/Social Media, Business Coordination, Shooting, Production, Editing & Post production. The video is very simple. Major chunk of this video is in my native Language Hindi, as I want them to feel cozy in their language of communication.

3 Important ways to send Morning Motivation - 1) Typed, 2) Voice or 3) Video

  • Send them a voice or video message with powerful communication strategy to motivate them almost every morning,
  • Even if its weekends all the more better, during weekends one can send some personal stuff sharing such reflecting Work-Life Balance or personal thought leadership or simply relishing weekends.
  • To start with Even written thought leadership messages originally thought and shared by you will also do.
  • I have observed, Mr. Motilal Oswal on his Linkedin sends quotes of famous people and that's a great way to start motivating whoever is influenced by you.

The video's biggest takeaways are :-

1) Communicate to your team, consistently, day after day, preferably early in the mornings. Leaders wake up before their teams do.

Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of Sikhs during the war was awake for long hours to ensure teams slept well, were not hungry or thirsty, as much as motivation he could give them.

2) Send the communication - written, voice or video preferably in common language of use, that team can understand and imbibe well.

Native Language use sets you apart when you team is more comfortable in Native Language.

3) Written is important when you are away from work, or not available.

Leaders don't need to feel pressured to send voice or video all the time.

WhatsApp is a wonderful way to build groups and send messages or even broadcast the message to individual team members.

Many companies are openly using Whatsapp to their communication advantage.

4) No thought of the day kind of stuff, especially the copied ones.

Your team is exclusive, they deserve your exclusive messages.

As a leader they look up to you for your original thoughts about them, about work and about life. The more customised, the better. Employees are the first customer, aren't they?

5) Don't bother too much about how you look. Leaders have inbuilt Charisma.

Teams are already influenced positively. Sounding natural early in the morning is but natural.

No body can wear make up or style 24 hours, we are all humans and being natural is our birth right. Yeah?

6) Of Course follow 1-2 mins message limit only. if you have a powerful voice with little training of pause and poise, stop and take the pitch higher, play with the volume and tone.

Podcasting or Audiocasting can be really powerful tool to communicate and turn around teams' emotions. Go by your gut feeling, if audio is your strength use it to the best.

7) Video sharing takes little practice. I coach my clients on how to use, writing mini-messages, sending powerful audio stuff and sharing natural videos with the teams.

Some of my Show Guests wonder, how easy it actually is.

Leaders are also humans, they also have initial inhibitions. Shed them away and there you are...powerfully with and around your teams.

8) Sound natural, being conscious is sure shot formula to make mistakes.

Leaders do have the right to learn and grow and in the process make mistakes too.

So if one video message is not recorded well, record another one, yet another one and here you go...all set after a couple of days practice.

9) Be consistent & Persistent in sending across your communication (I am repeating it because its the most important part of Video Content Strategy for your Teams).

The more you are consistent in morning motivation the better for you and your teams. They would start waiting for your message in the morning.

I was doing my early morning wake-up podcasting for over 1000 people every single day during 2017-2018.

The podcasts were in Hindi language, the objective was to help people wake up early in the morning, so their productivity and happiness index is increased during the day.

Those were super hit and only medium I used was WhatsApp groups. I learnt, being consistent is the only way ahead.

When I used to ignore podcasting for sometime, people used to call up and remind me to better send it everyday.

What to cover in Morning Motivation ?

What to cover in motivation - anything that you feel would add value to your team's day in a minute or two.

Any short powerful anecdote to start the day, any powerful thought leadership quotation of your ideals that you can use to show how motivated you feel, any natural official song, powerful lines or anchor you use everyday.

For example your style of using thumbs up at the end of the video and saying have a good day, will help employees anchor themselves to your motivation.
