How Most Business Courses and Masterminds Fail Neuro-Spicy Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship is tough, but it can be extra tricky for neuro-spicy entrepreneurs — those of us with neurodivergent traits, like ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and others, which can give us amazing strengths but also unique challenges in the business world.
Let's be real: the one-size-fits-all approach of most masterminds and courses can leave many of us neuro-spicy entrepreneurs feeling unsupported and left behind.
We often struggle to find the resources and support we need to succeed in our ventures and resort to binging knowledge and failing to execute on what we learn.
Let's look at the challenges that neuro-spicy entrepreneurs face in traditional masterminds and online courses, and we'll look at why a specialized approach is so important for their success.
The Challenges
Let's face it... traditional masterminds and online courses are often designed for a one-size-fits-all approach.
The content is created to suit the needs of the majority of students, and that can leave neuro-spicy entrepreneurs feeling left behind because many of us struggle with sensory overload or difficulty processing information in certain formats.
For example, I struggle to process information that's in audio-only formats like podcasts but I can read books at superhuman speeds. At the same time, I have friends that can only process information in audio and struggle with written text.
Most coaching programs don't spend the time making sure that different formats are presented or make the assumption that something is "self-explanatory" and that simple doesn't work for us.
We can often feel like we're just "missing something obvious" when our peers are grasping the information and running with it quickly.
This can sometimes happen because we tend to struggle more with comorbidities like rejection sensistivity and imposter syndrome — making it challenging for us to ask for help or admit that we aren't understanding something.
For example, imagine a student with ADHD who has difficulty sitting still for long periods of time. They may find it challenging to focus during a two-hour training webinar.
They may show up week-over-week to the coaching calls and can get distracted by new ideas and tactics instead of focusing on completing the projects they already started. You'll frequently see this showing up as requests for accountability or students forming side groups of accountabilibuddies to fill in gaps the programs aren't addressing.
Similarly, a student with autism might struggle to process information in a noisy, crowded Zoom call, making it difficult for them to engage with the material and interact with peers and get the feedback they need. We may sacrifice our need for clarification because we struggle with some social norms and don't want to be rude or "take over the call" and use up everyone's time.
Many coaches and instructors are not trained in neurodiversity or may lack the experience needed to support students and create a safe space to ask for help and unmask.
It's also becoming increasingly common for programs to rely on peer mentors instead of making the skilled and qualified coaches more accessible. These peers are simply trying to be helpful, but it's not their program or their responsibility to make sure students are supported.
We can often feel like the people that are there to help us aren't understanding our businesses or challenges and get frustrated that things that seem easy for them aren't working for us.

As a result, these entrepreneurs may find themselves struggling to keep up, feeling unsupported, or even dropping out altogether.
The Solution
Neuro-spicy entrepreneurs simply have different needs that aren't met in most programs. There isn't a one-size-fits-all solution that will work for everyone and every style of spicy brain.
But, I created an Academy for Neuro-Spicy Entreprenuers that works great for most flavors of pepper brains... on our high-energy, high confidence, days and our low-energy, low-motivation, days.
Me and the other teachers aren't rigid in our approach. We put systems and methods into place that accomodate a variety of learning styles and support needs.
But we also spend a lot of time talking to each student individually and in small groups that are teacher-led and student-focused.
We understand the 4 key motivators that are necessary for neuro-spicy entrepreneurs to start and finish a task as well as the self-care that's needed to allow us to focus when we can and recharge when we can't.
Will it work for everyone - of course not - but it's not meant to.
It's meant to work for the neuro-spicy entrepreneurs that haven't gotten what they needed in other mastermind and coaching programs.
We're here to support the ones that need more support, more guidance, and the freedom to unmask and be authentic without worrying about someone doubting their ability or professionalism.
You can cry when emotions get big and need released, you can stim when you're excited, you can share all the imposter syndrome thoughts and ask for clarification when you struggle to grasp something.
You'll be understood and supported.
