Hi! Marty Wilson from MoreFunny More Money coming to you with another tip about how to use humour as yoursecret weapon in business.
And today, I’m going to talk about how to be more optimistic and confident.
There was a study in 2011 done by Crawford & Caltabiano called “Promoting Emotional Wellbeing Through the Use of Humour". And it actually taught people how to create humour, taught them joke writing skills and storytelling skills – the same type of skills I teach in my MoreFunny More Money course.
Putting people through these processes was found to increase self-efficacy, positive affect, optimism and perceptions of control while decreasing perceived stress, depression, anxiety, and stress levels. Self-efficacy is all about how you perceive your own ability to handle life's ups and downs.
And so if you increase self-efficacy it makes you feel more confident and in control of your life and that gives you greater positive affect. That's a psychological term for more cheerful or happier and that makes you more optimistic and gives you perceptions of control, you feel like you're more on top of things in your life and it decreases in your perceived stress.
And even people who are found to have a bit of depression and anxiety that actually decreased that in people. Don't think these skills are things that are not essential for business and essential for life.
If you'd like to learn how to create jokes if you like to learn how to tell funny stories – let alone the whole business benefits just the personal benefits to what's going on in here and in here. I promise you.
