How Mindstores and Alfamart Empower Women to Be Business Owners in the Time of Pandemic

WIR Group through its business unit Mindstores creates a virtual store platform that provides opportunity for everyone to have their own stores without heavy investment and operational hassles. This platform becomes the basis of Alfamind, a virtual store network - the first in Indonesia and even globally - that is co-created by Mindstores and Alfamart. Alfamind utilizes AR-VR and IoT technology with a B2B2C business model. In difficult times like the current pandemic, Alfamind is a solution to drive the economy by empowering community members to earn extra income with minimum capital.

In this collaboration project, Mindstores developed the entire virtual store system for Alfamind including providing software-as-a-service (SaaS) e-Commerce as the basis of the system. Meanwhile, the processes of recruiting Store Owners (a term to refer to Alfamind store owners), product curation, registration and approval as well as marketing activities (training, coaching, promos, roadshows) are carried out by Alfamart.

Adian Adhitama Bachtiar, CEO of Mindstores, hoped this technology platform from Mindstores can be effectively utilized by the community to support their economy. Especially for women and housewives, Alfamind allows them to easily and conveniently juggle between taking care of their family and doing business by selling products through cross-platform digital channels and earn extra money.

More than just any online store, Alfamind offers immersive and impressive buying and selling experience to its users, thanks to WIR Group's web3 digital technologies.?Operating cross-platform digitally, Alfamind has attracted around 110,000 virtual shop owners with nearly 23,500 product listings that record around 6,750 transactions every month, in more than 430 cities across Indonesia.?

The growth of e-commerce market in Indonesia continues accelerating and in the year to date, this segment recorded more than US$20 billion in new retail revenue, driven by 26 million business units, mostly in the MSME sector. In line with this, the value of e-commerce transactions increased by 23% to Rp108.54 trillion compared to the same period last year.

So far, with the development of the technology it brings, Mindstores has secured partnerships with a number of brands such as Mili, Toko Awadah, and Kimia Farma - which resulted in the MEDIV brand. Taking that into account, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer WIR Group Gupta Sitorus hoped that Mindstores with its works and contributions can inspire more people in Indonesia to do business. "Mindstores offers solutions to help people become more financially-stable, and at the same time contributes to the realization of a strong digital economy that is envisioned by the government in 2023," said Gupta.
