How might we zoom out from the 2024 Ethics and governance of AI for health WHO report to ethical aspirations, moral courage and virtuous actions?

Take time for slow reading and thinking to contemplate the ethical aspirations, meanings and implications of the complex questions (listed below) for shaping a virtuous future.

  • How might we diagnose our ethical learning disability about the language of virtues?

Values is our first language about morality. Values are about setting priorities on what is important. The moral language of values dominate over the ethical language of virtues.?Virtues are about doing good. In effect, we put a much higher priority of values over virtues.

Our conflicting hierarchical value systems divide us into warring tribes. In contrast, we can use a constellation of harmonious virtues to align and guide collaboration toward peace for all.

How might we:

  • Move beyond the perils of reductionist thinking and collaborate on deep learning about how to solve our complex web of self-inflicted wicked problems in the 21st century, such as crony democracies, the climate crisis, the neo-terrorism of the disinformation, dysfunctional political polarizations, toxic divisiveness, terrorism, wars, human rights violations, and the injustices of BIPID: biases, isms, prejudices, inequities and discrimination?
  • Redress the failings of amoral-immoral governances, inept stewardship, incompetent leadership, unjust legal systems, and political corruption that perpetrate and perpetuate downstream negative impacts for humanity and the planet?
  • Develop AI-enabled digital platforms to cultivate equity meta-governance, upgrade our democracy, and co-create a fair-free-flourishing future?

This 5 minute read aims to evoke hours of contemplation, generative-strategic dialogues and civil discourse for lifelong intergenerational learning about how to understand and redress our wicked problems.

Ethics and governance of artificial intelligence for health: Guidance on large multi-modal models

People may use, misuse, and abuse AI in health care and disease care for good, bad, and ugly motives. The epic question for humanity is:

  • How might we cultivate equity meta-governance to maximize the good, ameliorate the bad, and eliminate the ugly for the ethical use of AI in launching Equity Moonshot?

Equity is the humanitarian virtue of fairness, kindness, and civility

Equity meta-governance is our Ultimate Meta-process for humanity (UMH): use a constellation of virtues to co-create fair rules, fair plays, fair games, fair opportunities, and fair rewards for the benefit of all, on a healthy planet.

Equity meta-governance is a twenty-first-century initiative based on regeneration and sustainability for co-designing a fair-free-flourishing future.?This trans-collaborative process uses an overarching set of first principles and simple rules to put ethical guardrails on the moral conduct of governments, the law and public policy, corporations, businesses, journalism, media, social media, artificial intelligence, and academic, leadership and educational enterprises that are essential for launching Equity Moonshot.

Equity Moonshot is a humanitarian-technological metaphor for our Ultimate Meta-Purpose (UMP): co-design and build an equitable, regenerative, and sustainable future.

How might we, the people, enable ethical, moral, community and ontological domains (listed below) to:

  • Interact synergistically as co-elevating upward spirals of ethical aspirations, moral courage and virtuous actions?
  • Making a mindset shift away from the Anthropocene toward regenerative growth era?

Regenerative governance alone is not enough to curtail our meta-crisis from cascading the catastrophic collapses of our poly-crisis.

  • Use the Rhodium rule and cultivate the ethics, equanimity and egalitarianism of equity meta-governance to use AI-enabled digital learning platforms for moral stewardship of nature and our living systems?

The Rhodium rule of equity meta-governance is: “Be fair and kind to all people, the planet, the environment, nature, biodiversity, animals, the soil, and plants.”?

Ethical meta-domain

This level is about the collaborative ethical frameworks of developing virtues, ensuring the integrity of truth-seeking, and assuring the transparent accountability of equity meta-governance.

How might we, as equity leaders, mentors, mavens, muses and design learning architects, open, inspire and align our mindsets to:

  • Scale up exponential opportunities to speed up the collaborative and transformational learning processes needed to create #EquityMoonshot story movements?
  • Cultivate the ethics, equanimity and egalitarianism of equity meta-governance to launch Equity Moonshot?
  • Develop global AI capabilities and capacities to verify instantaneously the accuracy of recommendations for planetary health, well-being, disease prevention, and disease treatment with the best possible evidence.

Moral macro-domain

This level is about putting equity meta-governance into practice at a supra-structure level to decentralize distributive empowerment networks of transformational leadership and to centralize comprehensive, coordinated synergies of open innovation.

  • How might we ensure equitable access to generative AI for developing political-public-private alliances within and across our socio-economic diversity of nations needed to build Equity Moonshot innovation hubs and social entrepreneurial networks of collaborative ecosystems?

Community meso-domain

This level is about putting equity meta-governance into practice within communities, organizations, and networks.

  • How might we enable the development of beloved learning communities to act locally with a global lens and enable lifelong intergenerational collaborative and transformational learning journeys needed to work on Equity Moonshot?

Ontological micro-domain

This level is about putting equity meta-governance into personal practice.

How might we, as activated citizens,

  • Move beyond leadership-followership models that reinforce the closed-mindedness of unquestioning loyalty to inspire the curiosity, creativity and inquiry skills needed to develop our authentic sovereignties within collaborative communities?
  • Collaborate in developing open-minded, truth-seeking, virtuous free-thinkers to align our mindsets and ethically redesign our systems for working on the Equity Moonshot quest?

Review the course syllabus C. Everett Koop taught when he retired as Surgeon General at Dartmouth/Geisel Medical schoo;l: "Bedside Manners"; and consider reinstating the 'Consumer Majorities' we had under the National Health planning and Resources Development Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-641)-until Reagan decided 'Government-mandated Citizen participation' wasn't necessary.
