How to memorize words in English?
For those of us who are always striving to improve our knowledge of the language, I would like to share some comments on a useful video I recently watched about how to memorize words, particularly whether it would be wise to have a list of words, for example. (The YouTube channel is English Coach 3ts.) Should we keep lists of words?
I agree with the lovely American YouTube teacher, Tanya, and I believe that we may not retain these words in our minds for very long. While it might be helpful if we are studying for a test, it could be impractical if our goal is to use them in our day-to-day lives. If we are able to make connections and practice using these words in our own reality, the chances of improving and increasing the likelihood of remembering them can be significant. Additionally, when we can relate some of these words to certain emotions or to things and facts that relate to our lives, it can enhance our understanding and retention of those words.
Of course, one might argue that we should learn words organically, just by listening, observing, and trying to use them. However, it's important to keep in mind that some of these words might only be passive vocabulary, and we may not use them spontaneously in our daily conversations.
Feel free to share your own comments on this topic. I hope this can be helpful to you.
