While McKinsey 7S framework offers good elements, for me it seems a bit "narrow" in the broader context of Digital transformation management. I would say that this framework focuses a lot on the people side of the organization - staff, skills, style, shared values.. while PEOPLE are always the ones than can make the transformation happen or fail, I should encourage organization to take a more holistic approach, if selecting a framework to follow. I like BTM2 model - which offers a more focused approach for managing and measuring the specific process of business transformation. As we are taking here Digital transformation, we should not forget the emphasis on technology and market orientation. I would say that McKinsey 7S would be great in organization analysis and organizational change management, rather than facilitating a comprehensive Digital transformation.
